I have been reading that guy's blog like he's a weird newspaper columnist since the late 2000s. It's been fascinating watching him mellow out from being the dickwolves fiasco guy to a left-of-the-average-lib proponent of creative drive.

"The documents also show that Dr. Botstein’s office had planned out a trip to Mr. Epstein’s island in 2012. The revelation was reported by The Times Union, a local newspaper, on Thursday."

Thank you to all who came out, and to Lower Haight Local for stopping by and sharing your awesome local newspaper!

And this month's updated and badly-crafted profile icon is setting off the theme: the undead! Every Saturday, I'll break out a new icon, in keeping with the tradition, and let it sort of function as a profile icon. I don't know. It's a.. thing. I'm doing this.

This is why whole dying newspaper groups change hands for less than the cost of a single print newspaper. The trusted branding is their only asset, and the spin doctors are willing to pay out the debts in order to procure a known and trusted brand.
This is masthead theft propaganda.

And that’s also what killed Palin, politically. She absolutely could not imagine just saying something out loud without knowing if it was publicist-approved.

It’s why she froze like a caribou in headlights when Katie Couric asked her to name a newspaper she read. She was terrified of screwing up.

The cartoon that appeared this week on the front page of France’s most influential national newspaper, Le Monde

Brilliant work by the cartoonist, Guffo.

Remember Montreal 1976 when the flame went out after a big rainstorm and some workman got it going again with his lighter and a newspaper?

If any other sitting president had this clear cognitive decline (if we are to believe this newspaper) I feel more people would have tossed him out. 25th amendment or what it was.

Heck this is the same thing that made Biden such a bad choice. Trump is as old as Clinton and Bush Jr.

Top Shelf Friday time

What's a comic in your collection that you love? ❤️

This week, Sleeping Beauty #1 (1959)
CBCS returned the article which had been inserted in the comic. This was the first square bound Disney book I bought that was not super low grade.

You know that the main Soviet newspaper was “Truth”
Hence the anecdote
The lady at the newspaper stand replies to the customer’s request

There is no “Truth”
“Soviet Russia” is all sold out
The only thing left is the
“Labor” for 3 cents

If a doc about a former First Lasy turned out to be so much more popular and well-received than the doc made about my wife, who I met through a pedophile sex-trafficking spy, to curry favor with me at the expense of a once-prestigious newspaper, I’d like to think I wouldn’t go super racist over it

The out of town AI newspaper running apologia for landlords is certainly... exactly what I'd expect.

This might be a little surprising if the Times was still a *newspaper.*
Unfortunately, neither Times nor Post, nor damn near any other in this sewer of a country has been a legitimate newspaper for a long time.
Probably better at this point we just call them out as the propaganda rags they are.

Out of the lot of them, aside from maybe Musk, there's a case to be made that Bezos has gone the *most* oligarch — the vanity Melania doc, bending his influential newspaper to placate the president, changing company policy after a phone call. Stiff competition though
