A friend of mine in their late 40s finally got adhd diagnosis and medication. Had really changed their ability to follow through tasks etc.

If they'd had this in their 20s their life and especially career could have been very different.

It's important to get proper diagnosis and advice.

That doesn't say a lot for the furniture store's standards and practices, who were apparently blindsided by the idea that people in the late 90s might not like to hear the word "butthole" while they were watching Diagnosis: Murder, but it REALLY doesn't say a lot for me, who only just now caught on.

I did in late 2024, only so I could get accommodations at work. There's no reason to do it otherwise, IMO. Self diagnosis is valid.

My fellow late diagnosis autist, how the hell do you not feel wrong every time you socialize? Like how do you make friends without feeling dumb or annoying or overthinking. I’m so exhausted with being lonely but feeling to scared to put myself out there because every time I have I feel like I fail 🫩

..I needed at home. But having an actual diagnosis might've given me access to tools i could've used to better understand myself and help manage my life. I'm glad there's so much info & communities online for kids now (and us adults finding out too late).

I called one out for it then blocked the fucker and dumped the rest. It’s genetic. I think if you have a late diagnosis and lots of childhood trauma from parents and a world that didn’t know how to handle your form of intelligence, life can be fucking rough, and I definitely don’t have a solution.

Gifted burnout kid and university dropout. Worked in fast food, retail, and office environments, only to be belittled by colleagues and managers, being told my best wasn't good enough by bosses. Late autism diagnosis and bad experiences with jobs lead to self employment as an artist.

Anxiety sucks.
