There was an article cited long ago (WSJ?) that big money was flowing into youth sports because investors saw it as recession-proof - money at the pros drives people to use sports to get into and get money from colleges. If there's that much money in sports, people will do what it takes to get some.

And if the INVESTORS projected those low numbers it proves the rest was all influence peddling

Other people can do the real homework, but I think he’s just moving investors’ money around in a way that gives him more liquidity after all the borrowing and share pledging he had to do.

It is smart if your only interest is to make yourself and your private investors happy while offloading the risk to retail investors.

It also seems like absolutely pure vaporware for investors. What the hell even is the point of putting compute infrastructure into orbit?

Small detail though:

A memo just went out to employees at two of Musk's companies: SpaceX has acquired xAI.

Just curious, is Mozilla a publicly traded company? Wondering if the AI shit was put in there in the first place because dipshit investors were calling for it

space x investors: congratulations, you dumb hogs
February 2, 2026 at 9:47 PM
This whole heap is gonna go public soon. So he made twitter investors whole with AI venture money and soon he’ll make the AI investors whole with public equity market money, on the back of an enterprise the US government won’t allow to fail.

"On Monday, the company also announced that it had raised $1.5 billion through a consortium of private investors. For that transaction, Cantor Fitzgerald, a Wall Street firm formerly headed by Mr. Lutnick, acted as the lead placement agent, the company said."

Lead Placement Agent. Huh.

Nepotism, conflicts of interest, receiving bribe & coruption $$$, and insider trading are halmarks of the Trump regime.

Defunding agencies and redirect funding to his private slush fund arms.

Or selling national secrets or top semiconductor chips to foreign investors.

Follow the $$$!

sadly i think the reason is more on the ballpark of "damn we have an investors meeting next week and we need a spike to print on a graph so they get their dopamine and keep giving us their pretend money, go fetch something in the gamefiles and publish it"

answering this question is the critical first step in winning the investment game. In their detailed new report, they move beyond the debate over whether markets are "efficient" to provide a robust taxonomy of the sources of inefficiency that active investors can exploit to capture excess returns.

Nevermind that the physics of data centers in orbit just doesn't work. This guy is only trying to keep investors interested in him with the next big thing. Even though he has struck out and moved on from every product since electric vehicles WHICH HE BOUGHT AND DID NOT INVENT.

Target hits bullseye, investors shop. #finsky
Yesterday in NYC’s Columbus Circle, on the heels of ~20 similar actions at Targets in Minnesota on Saturday, and leading up to bigger ones to come very soon.

Our core demand is simple:

Target, stop collaborating with ICE

Oh, but it's ok for white male (usually) "entrepreneurs" to have swindled taxpayers or investors out of way more money than what supposedly was pilfered by some group of Somali immigrants, and therefore labeling all Somalis as criminals. Just look at the scum the Felon has pardoned in recent months.
i’m a lot more likely to think about the $10 billion trump is actively trying to steal from us right now
Rep. Tim Burchett: "When you pay your taxes this year, remember the $14 billion that illegal Somalis stole from you"
