Wyoming’s constitution already prohibits voting for non-citizens, and a recent investigation in its most populous county found zero cases of noncitizen voting there in the 2024 election. But the GOP has passed strict new restrictions.
Wyoming Is Now Requiring Would-be Voters to Document Their Citizenship
The rules were pushed by Wyoming’s ultraconservative secretary of state despite no pattern of noncitizen voting. A lawsuit warns it risks tripping up eligible citizens who wish to register.

media coverage of this is already as pathetic as you might expect, usually failing to mention:

the FCC has no authority over the UK's BBC

the scandal was created by right wing media

the year-old BBC edits fall outside limits of UK defamation law

PBC, NPR never aired the documentary
Trump's censor in chief at the FCC, Brendan Carr, just sent a letter to the heads of BBC, NPR and PBS informing them he's launching a "news distortion" probe into the BBC's editing of a documentary on Trump's Jan. 6 activities.

Here it is:

I love reading these vignettes. An account with the background of people to bring the history and lost lives.

I hope a renewed interest of that era with the American Revolution brings more attention to following this account.
In November 1767, an enslaved man “addicted to be funny in his Talking” and “particular in shaving true his Forehead” escaped slavery in Rhode Island. His story offers a powerful alternative vision of liberty during the era of the American Rev.

WSJ opinion ignores the bottom line. Money?

We keep living through crash and burns while CEO $ goes up. Companies choose to rely on others to investing to train workers. All ages.

(And I respect Jim Farley - it's the WSJ/author's choice to omit this fact.)
Ford can’t fill 5,000 mechanic jobs that pay $120,000 a year.

“We are in trouble in our country. We are not talking about this enough,” says Ford CEO JIm Farley.

Tariffs won't fix American manufacturing. What's needed is a different focus on training.

I wish everyone would read this. The latter can be managed. The former is unlivable.
This post is a reflection on what the film 'Just Mercy' [Michael B. Jordan, Jamie Foxx] tells us about "neutral" law, perseverance, and the exceeding cost of entrenched systemic racial injustice. The film is about Bryan Stevenson's work to free people on death row.
