My range is pretty much cute anthro animals or Pokemon fanart, although I started playing about with Hamtaro and want to play about with Sonic more soon.

My main preference in media is crayons, chalk, or oil pastels in any order, but also markers and paints as well.

A wax crayon drawing of Togepi swimming with Luvdisc that I drew back in 2015. I was still relying on linework at this time and didn't quite have blending/shading down with wax crayons yet either. A wax crayon drawing of Pichu and Dedenne building a snowman that I drew last week for one of two works from 2025 that I'm featuring in this quote post. This is about five years after I learned to drop linework with this medium and also basically learned to treat wax crayons as if they're oil pastels that you can't smudge in terms of layer shading/blending. A watercolor and watercolor crayon painting of a pair of bunnies skating on a frozen pond at night that I painted a couple weeks ago for the second of two works from 2025 that I'm featuring in this quote post. I'm genuinely new to watercolor crayons and I'm loving them so far when used in combination with watercolors or even water-based markers like my Crayola markers or even my Arteza brush pens. An amusing aside about gel plate monotypes; for everyone saying it must be done this certain way, there are three people saying (& showing) that it doesn't matter a bit. Everyone is so earnest. God bless 'em. It's essentially fingerpainting. It can be beautiful, but technically, it's not that deep.

A mixed-media painting of Pichu and Dedenne holding paws in front of the tree after playing with their Christmas toys. Dedenne's right paw is smudged with paint as the result of Pichu having been fingerpainting earlier before holding paws. This was painted with Arteza brush pens and Crayola Signature watercolor crayons, and was photographed through a Lumix GF2 with a no-name 35mm f1.6 manual, native-mount prime lens mounted to it.

That's cool. We never did any painting in school besides fingerpainting (fun but difficult to make anything of quality). Later we used pastels, charcoal, oil stick, all sorts of media but never paint. I messed with watercolors on my own but always just a "coloring book" style over my line art.
