#eosinophils,
These markers correlated with clinical success of OIT. In fact, we found that lower CD300b in monocytes and higher CD300f in eosinophils both correlate with a greater reduction in allergen-specific IgE.

Early in treatment, we observed a significant downregulation of the activating receptor CD300b across all myeloid cells. Simultaneously, the inhibitory receptor CD300f increased longitudinally, specifically on eosinophils.
January 31, 2026 at 4:34 PM
The core finding of our research is that OIT shifts the balance of myeloid cells, including eosinophils, monocytes, and neutrophils from an "activating" state toward an "inhibitory" one by dynamically regulating CD300 receptors.

❌ Epithelioid Hemangioma
-Prominent mixed inflammation (eosinophils & lymphocytes)
-Often associated with trauma (angiolymphoid hyperplasia)

-Prominent mixed inflammation (eosinophils & lymphocytes)
-Plump "hobnail" or cobblestone endothelium

Who'd like to have a go at assessment cases from the Thoracic Society of Australia, 1980? All the ins and outs of decadron and serum theophylline levels. And a resource reference from senior author A.S. Fauci! (I am loving this nerdy dig through my father's files).

Ha! The commercial came on again!

It's for something called 'Fasenra'. From the sounds of things, it's an asthma thing that affects the eosinophils (Specific white blood cells that attack parasites & whatnot).
Late Night Thoughts...

There's a random medicine commercial on TV that I swear is using a very Country-fied vers of the Kids in the Hall theme song.

Not sure that makes any sense beyond like two other people here but Yeah. Kinda' weird. o.o

Slows peristalsis and relaxes smooth muscle contractions. Sounds like this dude needs a scope with biopsies. Got some eosinophils causing shenanigans. Or he doesn't chew.

Nephrol Dial Transplant. 2015 Aug;30(8):1370-6). Remember, too, that urine eosinophils can be found in a variety of upper and lower urinary tract diseases as well, including infection, cholesterol microemboli, and papillary necrosis (see Nolan CR et al. Eosinophiluria. Clin Lab Med 1988; 8:555-565).

However, eosinophils are not specific for allergic-type AIN as they may also be prominent in other acute and chronic diseases affecting the tubulointerstitium.
January 20, 2026 at 2:01 PM
Prominent interstitial eosinophils (see arrow) are most often associated with allergic-type acute interstitial nephritis (AIN).

Just had a followup with my new pulmonologist. My eosinophils levels were high and I'm still getting asthma symptoms with the new medicine, so she's recommending I start injections to further control my asthma

Yes! I had to go visit the vampires yesterday for hematology next week and the email hit this morning and almost everything is shockingly normal for me! And the eosinophils were SUPER in range, I was pleasantly surprised.
January 16, 2026 at 2:48 PM
I strongly suspect you will, because it works to reduce TSLP and that's a precursor to both eosinophils and IL-5 (which can increase eosinophils)
January 16, 2026 at 2:44 PM
...Because eosinophils is a goofy word. And because you KNOW that the internet search is going to tell them that their eosinophilia is going to be parasites or cancer.

And you can preempt that with a few words on the sheet. And be a big damn hero! Or something.

doc how come my eosinophils say 0.6 when the normal values say 0.0 to 0.5
