I doubt that is true, they wouldn’t be on a gerrymandering spree in red states if that were true, these people aren’t invincible like the doomsayers think they are. They’re counting on people like you to convince people it’s a lost cause and to stay home

Critics weren't killing joy. They were doing their jobs. They were looking past the execu-speak and the advertising machinery (if they were good) and finding unheathly things in mainstream entertainment. In many cases, they were dismissed or ignored as doomsayers an un-fun wonks.

This is the problem I have with all the AI- doomsayers.
There is A TON wrong with how tech companies are training AI models and launching AI to the public.
But there is so much that is and can be valuable about it - with regulation and funding the people doing good.

This is the problem I have with all the AI- doomsayers.

Predictions of an economic crash are rather widespread, and not just Murphy. What should be remembered though is that the doomsayers were laughed at pre-2008. I recall one US site listing why a crash was coming due to the mortgage market and derivatives at least 2 years before it happened.

One thing I don’t think Americans understand is just what a large percentage of Brits have a daily experience of London. I reckon it’s about 10-15%. No American city comes anywhere near that. We know London in a way that a mid-westerner knows LA or New York. It’s why the doomsayers sound so weird.

What's weird is that my mom was one of the biggest doomsayers about this and she's lived in the Twin Cities almost her whole life. And not in particularly nice neighborhoods. And she herself was not...super well behaved? So I'm not sure how she got to be such a candy ass.
