I led the Liberal Democrats’ response to the Government’s Devolution Bill, which falls far short of its promises. Instead of empowering local communities, it centralises authority in Mayors, and will leave councils saddled with debt and set up to fail. I called them out on this.

We’ve just hit 50 council by-election wins since May 1st, winning more than the Conservatives, Labour, and the Green Party!

The momentum is with us. 🔶

Two things about this UKIP/Brexit/associate of Farage/ former MEP don't surprise me. Firstly there is a suspicion about taking Russian money and secondly that his home is in France.....

A pleasant surprise to find for the second week running Question Time has a Lib Dem MP on.

No Reform ⁉️
* Except Leave EU - campaigner
Shame, as some questions must be:

Is Farage a racist?

Did other Farage MEPs take Russian bribes?

Will Farage back an inquiry into Russian interference?

On budget day, let's not forget how much there is to fix in this country - building better education, housing, climate action and other things require long-term planning that only collaborative budgets with multi-party involvement can secure. 🧵

Budget 💷 Labour has failed to deliver fairer taxes. Big banks, digital service companies and online gambling firms should pay their fair share. Instead, hundreds of thousands of lower wage earners and retirees with modest occupational pensions will be dragged into income tax by Labour’s stealth tax.

As for Farage’s use of racist slurs being confined to his childhood - well, that's not what Alan Sked, the founder of UKIP, claimed in this 2014 interview.

He says here that Farage was using the "n" word as late as 1997.

Farage would have been about 33 at time.

After years of @libdems.org.uk pressure, the Government has frozen rail fares - but it’s too little, too late.

Bath commuters still pay thousands while almost a third of Bath Spa journeys are delayed or cancelled.

The Government must deliver a long-term plan for reliable, affordable rail now.
Rail fares to be frozen in England next year
Regulated fares, which include season tickets and off-peak returns, will not see annual price rises for the first time in 30 years, the government announces.
