I somewhat disagree. One of the reasons the democracy is also failing in Europe is that Europe is very bad at integrating new people into the political community.
Birthright citizenship is probably not integral to liberal democracy, but it is integral to *American* liberal democracy. Our vision of what we are as a country, as a nation beyond an ethnicity, requires it.

Appearing on some of these podcasts must feel like maneuvering through a minefield. Taiwan quantifiably has a stronger democracy, higher level of freedom, freer press, better protections for the LGBTQIA+ community, robust government DEI policies and immeasurable less government corruption.

Appearing on some of these podcasts must feel like maneuvering through a minefield. Taiwan quantifiably has a stronger democracy, higher level of freedom, freer press, better protections for the LGBTQIA+ community, robust government DEI policies and immeasurable less government corruption.
Any Democracy that is going to have the "lesser evil" enshrining mandatory sexual harassment of all athletes to keep my community out of sports, and forcibly detransition all trans kids while sending them to conversion therapy isn't worth preserving. Oppose all fascism or stop whining about it.
