the issue is a lot of these people arguing for this are so in on campism that they believe because a socialist is doing it, it will totally be not corrupt. And the reason why social programs are bad are because they were made by Republicans or the lame Democrats

And I would *also* say that compensatory campism happens. And, I think it's possible to actually evaluate the strength of arguments - and that fortunately that occurs as well. But anyway, just thought I would add a slightly diff't perspective, for whatever it's worth.

Labeling people “Dengist” or “nazbol” isn’t analysis. The question is structural power. The US and its allies waged a regime-change proxy war in Syria. That’s a matter of record, not campism. Your views are very unserious.

One of the sad things is, in the absence of a coherent internationalist left, I find some groupings end up drifting towards campism purely out of the desire to have some sense of an actually existing internationalism--even if it is more often than not painting reactionary politics as leftist

The Owen Jones vatnik mini arc is why I feel the left gets thrashed for having terrible foreign policy ideas which are always US/UK/Europe bad campism and "If we just abolished the army we'd have world peace I swear."
I feel this was Corbyns biggest failure and the fact the man can't lead a party.

Every so often the leftlib commentariat acts like “America bad” is a foul or silly thing to believe. Occasionally they get “sophisticated” with it and talk about campism and whatnot. Either way, every time its still a defense of the status quo and doesn’t reckon with what we do to the global south
