#arracht
Agus milliún milliún a thabhairt ar trillion? Le fírinne, níl m’inchinn sách mór le méid na huimhreach sin a chuimsiú. 1,000,000,000,000 An t-aon rud a deireann sé sin liom ná gur arracht cruthanta é Musk.

Ollphéist an Lae: An Torc // Monster of the Day: The Boar.

If you see Diarmuid, tell him to stay away from Ben Bulben/Ben Gulabin. 👀🐽

An fianaise é sin nach bhfuil IS de dhíth le píosaí cultúir a tháthú le chéile le arracht à la Frankenstein a chruthú?

(The Japanese movie from 2023) Monster is great (not to be confused Arracht aka Monster, the Irish language famine movie which..
I also liked a lot (or the Aileen Wuornos one I haven’t seen))

Na Gealáin Thuaidh … nó Arracht Craosach?

Arracht is really good, really sunk my teeth into that, so good to see something like it after how bad Black '47 was. Mysterious Skin fucked me up, great movie. Nausicaa is a real gem if you love Miyazaki (and Dune). Up Next:

Nothing majorly exciting in the last batch, obviously everything On Cinema at the Cinema is beyond reproach. Modest Heroes has some good stuff. Hokusai was a bit crap imo. Up next: (Monster is Arracht obviousy)

Ah yes, remember the reviews now - it’s in Irish isn’t it? I’ve noticed a few recent Irish releases have been. I think the last one I saw was Arracht which was excellent. Big up Irish language film making. Get your game on now Wales and Kernow!

Chum.
Níl 𝔀𝓪𝓵𝓴𝔀𝓮 fianaithe ach uair amháin sa chorpas Tocárach, i gcomhthéacs mar nach bhfuil sé soiléir cad is ciall leis. Déanann sé tagairt do arracht uafásach éigin.

We watched Arracht (2019)
A rather dark & poetic movie nGaeilge set in Connemara about surviving the great famine
Artful cinematography and performances
Defo recommend

Nochtann an arracht a fhiacla. Uafásach.

Arracht is on TG4 at 21.30. A fine Irish film set during the famine. Obviously not a fun watch but a satisfying one.

Arracht is good, though I really want a properly nightmarish Gorta Mór movie. With Irish history it’s baffling that we haven’t produced a load of crushingly bleak* historical epics ala The Proposition/The Nightingale
*that’s a positive in this case

Táim ag féachaint ar an scannán Arracht. Léim na fotheidil i mBéarla, ach éistim i nGaeilge.

(I am watching the movie Arracht (Monster). I read the captions in English but listen in Irish.)

Bhí duine amháin i Washington inniu a bhí sásta gaineamh a chaitheamh san aghaidh ar an arracht sa teach bán.

I wanna talk to Black Americans about Arracht/Song of Granite and our 'slaves films. im being very specific for a reason
February 5, 2025 at 4:29 AM
I wanna talk about "slave movies" and trauma porn in conversation with movies like arracht and song of granite but it needs to happen with Black people that have seen these movies and know/understand the history of BA in America (that are BA)

so idk rt if you're BA please
