House heads, in case you’ve not heard it yet & if you want a real lifesaver, check out Ron Trent’s remixes of Soul II Soul’s “Dream’s A Dream.” Absolutely glorious as you’d expect, only issue being whether to play the main mix or the dub, but I will get around this by fuckin’ around & playing both

My tastes can be hyper-specific, so I’m sure I have multiple enormous blind spots, but I’m guessing as a younger gen x it’d be some of the folkier side of the 00s American indie scene, eg; Bon Iver & Sufjan Stevens
That said, my mates did a good job getting me into Low & Bill Callahan & a few others
What is your biggest musical blindspot for someone precisely your age?

For me - an elder millennial - it is that I have never knowingly listened to INCUBUS, nor could I name even one of their songs if you put a gun to my head.

One thing I cannot stand in this life is when people put words in your mouth in the workplace.
Working a humdrum job is enough without some asshole colleague using you to further their weird negative energy by misquoting you
Apologies, rant over

This is a terrible move. Standards in RTÉ are in audible decline. This is an essential public service not a for profit enterprise, something made all the more vital in an age of rampant disinformation. Short sighted, shallow thinking.

Zohran Mamdani polled +40% on men under 30. So we wasted all that time on all those think pieces about how we need a Joe Rogan for the left, when what we actually needed were *policies* for the left.

Back to shoutout this new DJ Rolando mix-- 2 hours of textbook techno for Reclaim Your City.

Soulful, uplifting heaters that pack a serious punch, evoking the heyday of '90s warehouse raves and Detroit's second wave, while confidently plowing ahead to the future.
Reclaim Your City 668 | Rolando
This week we’re blessed to welcome a true legend of the techno game with Rolando taking over RYC waves for a two-hour jaunt into otherworldly floor narratives and lushly-forested sonic landscapes. Now
