As a kid, I liked the B&W telly Supermensch - but Batman was in COLOUR and he had a cool car, secret passages, a belt with more pouches than everything bouncing in Australia and villains that you knew weren't really sinister... being invincible is shit, even with Kraptonite tacked into the plot.

Spider-Man, Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America, The FF4 (I know that's 8) but that's how I'd peg it. Although the obvious difference is Marvel is normal Joe's who got powers and are dealing with them and DC is more a pantheon of godlike supermensch.
I can't put the x-men in there, they don't fit.
