Having a contrasting Guard ruleset for Necromundan 8th and a unit of Spyrer private-army types would be really interesting, which is probably why GW hasn't done it

One of the fun things about 40k is how, since it's been around for so long and had so many authors, there's lots of little things in there that have mildly confusing names for no good reason.
Today's example: A Necromundan Spider and a Necromundan Spyrer are entirely different and unrelated things.

There's this bit in the first tau codex where a techpriest suggests that necromundan spyrer suits not only are repurposed battlesuit technology, but that they also might be *spyware*. Not sure how canon it is now, but it's a great example of the tau pulling sneaky BS and how fun it is.

Scavvy Boss slight conversion work out of a second hand model. He wears the armour in an attempt to hide his scarred body as unlike the rest of his clan, he despises mutations and attempts to remove them, typically with little success.
