Kind of felt like the Boo Boo Runs Wild short from Spumco... felt a bit short on the extreme expressions compared to Seasons 1 and 2 of Ren and Stimpy, so I decided to redraw a few expressions to illustrate my point.

Kind of! It’s a pretty standard skating game but themed around cartoon characters. Spumco actually worked on it so it’s surprisingly horny.

Yeah, I'm aware of that. I know her and many of the Dumm Comics artists were ex-Spumco, I just think calling their work "John k's legacy" is a big disservice to them.

The Spumco seasons were a bit too slow for my liking, and my first true exposure to the series was a Games era episode.
But that aside this show was a real trailblazer and I love it for all it has, even the lesser seasons.

Good pull. Yeah Spümco were definitely influenced by it. John K talked about it a lot on his blog back before we all found out he’s a MeToo pedo as well as generally an asshole. I was relieved to learn he wasn’t the sole creative force there like he claimed; he just talked the most about it. Typical

There's this weird Spumco renaissance in animation, in spite of John K.'s fall from grace. I'm noticing that influence in Netflix's film about a dog with soon-to-be snipped balls, and the recent Looney Tunes movie as well.

I've seen so many productions that claim to be emulating the Golden Age of animation, but what they're really doing is aping 1990s rubber-hose revival in the mode of Spümcø. If I wanted Ren & Stimpy I'd just watch Ren & Stimpy.
