So, my mom was enrolled in SNAP a lot as I was growing up. Generally that's how we were able to get food while still being able to barely pay bills.

Yup, sd cards are pretty universal, from the wii/3ds to the switch, nintendo just uses standard sd cards. I remember the nightmare of trying to get storage for my psp and ps vita back in the day, those used proprietary sony storage formats and were (still are) ridiculously expensive
