#Polytunnel
You’d draw the sign of a polytunnel on your window and hope that someone passing by would stop and talk to you about herbal lays.

In a quandary.
Been offered a much bigger plot.
Won’t see sunrise in spring/summer.
I will never ever visit on the afternoon/evening and it’s NE/SE-aligned.
Big polytunnel, potential pond, but no shed.
Advice encouraged.

After lifting the last of the spuds, I enjoyed the lovely sunset and turned toward home
And saw the real show; the setting sun creating an almost vertical rainbow in the north-east

I managed to finish tidying up my polytunnel for the new season today which was a small win before I retired to the sofa again. 😂🌱

Busy day on #allotment today. Pigeon distractions aside. Started our 'Reuse Compost' programme. Tubs/Pots from polytunnel get mixed w fresh home-made compost & rotting chainsaw flakes and stored in big bags for Winter. A bit of a chore

Was pooped, so no photo.

Friend of mine has a polytunnel in Devon and hasn’t done as well, so would be jealous of what you’ve done (although they did manage to grow a melon!)

What a transformation - one of the trickier areas to clean as it’s a bay of a multispan polytunnel - but he got there and it’s all ready for another season of herb growing 🌱🇬🇧

The polytunnel is finally producing veg I recognise. For the past couple of weeks we’ve steamed their green leaves but soon enough the real stuff will be ready.

I wish we labelled food the other way around. So if chemicals have been used in its production that is on the label. Eg chemically farmed carrots, intensive use of fertiliser/pesticide grown wheat, polytunnel and heavily sprayed tomatoes etc etc.

Accidentally uncovered a little slow worm in the polytunnel today - put it safely back to hibernate (brumation)

Not even a year old (meaning, I’m clueless but still learning) here’s the polytunnel with its final planting for winter.

Cauliflower (three kinds = way too much cauliflower), Rainbow Chard, Celtuce (asparagus lettuce), Purple Sprouting Broccoli and regular Broccoli.

Wish me luck…

The guys from #Budwud Ltd have been grafting on behalf of @np-polytunnels.bsky.social to build our new polytunnel. It’s shaping up nicely.

Brrrrrrrr. I switched puppy detail with the man (he takes mornings while I’m lunch) but he’s off doing rock things in Wales.

Double gloves + two pairs of socks isn’t making a dent in the cold. Brrrrrrrrrr!

Brrrrrr…. It’s frosty outside! My to-do list can wait (tucking in with books instead).

I've basically sculpted plastic patches out of polytunnel tape to fill the gaps in the drawer fronts. It's very flexible and it doesn't mind getting cold. 😂

Last of the polytunnel peppers. Small Poblanos and Beaver Dam, which are the same species but with a kick. Would have made good Chipotle if I could be bothered to process, I suspect. Some for tonight’s Texas chilli, rest for freezer.
