Beavers and Tierra del Fuego ecosystems didn't evolve together.

Beavers and Irish ecosystems DID evolve together.

It's basic ecology.
You have to be extremely careful where you introduce them. Just 20 Canadian beavers and their descendants have spent most of the last century destroying Tierra del Fuego. I’ve visited this area and the destruction is devastating. www.nationalgeographic.com/animals/arti...
Argentina brought beavers to Tierra del Fuego. It was not a good idea.
In 1946, the government wanted to create a fur industry. More than 70 years later, it’s clear the ecosystem wasn’t meant to cope with them.

"I'm coming to Boston and I'm bringing hell with me."
--Homan in February

"Do I expect violence to escalate? Absolutely."
-- Tom Homan in March

"I actually thought about getting up and throwing that man a beating right there in the middle of the room"
-- Homan in July, referring to a D congressman
Homan: "I begged for the last two months on TV for the rhetoric to stop. I said in March -- if the rhetoric doesn't stop, there is gonna be bloodshed. And there has been. I wish I wasn't right. I don't want to see anybody die."

Nothing has highlighted just how technically illiterate the senior business management and political classes are right now as the whole AI thing.

Just an entire generation of "leaders" incapable of spotting a bad sales pitch because of some woo woo tech words that sound cool.
We want to make sure tutoring isn't the preserve of a lucky few, but accessible to every child who needs it.

AI can help us do that.

Safe, personalised, one-to-one learning support to help every child achieve and thrive.

Fossil fuels are subsidised by governments - whether directly, through tax breaks or by allowing them to pollute + pass clean up costs onto the taxpayer. In turn, plastics + chemicals made from fossil fuels are artificially cheap. This is not a level playing field.

The whole 9-9-6 culture is an attempt for these people to;
A) justify their professional existence; most of these people don’t create anything useful
B) when 0.1% of them make it big through what will be A LOT of luck they can claim it was all hard work - ignoring all the other 9-9-6ers who failed

The government’s suggestion that rolling out 20 minute courses on writing “AI“ prompts, sponsored by Google, Microsoft and Amazon, is somehow comparable to the founding of the Open University (the Wilson government‘s, & Jennie Lee’s, proudest achievement), is an insult to our human intelligence.

#nightmusic

I worried when I saw Philip Glass trending. He’s still kicking, and decided the Kennedy Center isn’t worthy of his “Lincoln” Symphony premiere. He’s had wide influence on music in general. Here he is on his 87th birthday. He’ll turn 89 Friday.

G'night.

Can't see this happening on Question Time...
Mehdi Hasan: “You falsely said on TV that 50% of social housing goes to non-British people but the real number is actually 14%.”

Matthew Goodwin: I don’t think the government census data or the Mayor of London are credible sources.

I know I keep writing about this, but the level of delusion is staggering. How do so many people think Reform will 'save the country' when it’s led by defected Tories from the worst cabinet in UK history? It’s not change, just same failures, new logo, and people cheering like it’s a revival, not a rerun.

Fun Fact - 75% of Reform MPs are now ex Tory MPs

So it really isn’t Tories Mark 2, it so isn’t right.. it’s a totally different party❗️ 🤭😂🤣😂🤣
