my cab driver last night is a former tfl bus driver. he said they have a button they press when someone dodges the fare and when there’s a lot of buttons pressed on a certain bus or in an area, that’s where the ticket inspectors go.

when my parents visited, mum and I went to the opera and I set dad up on the sofa with Peckinpah and the video projector. we came back to find him in the exact same position we left him, saying “you’re back already?”. he still talks about the projector experience as a highlight of his London trips.
