This Government has no moral authority left to protect. But still, this is an agonising read from the great @georgemonbiot.bsky.social.
Let’s be clear: if the Palestine Action hunger strikers die, the government will bear moral responsibility | George Monbiot
The three remaining hunger strikers have been convicted of nothing. Yet with astonishing cruelty, ministers refuse to listen to their reasonable demands, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

Yes, this worked. The fennel wasn't overwhelming. I checked in some potatoes that were looking lonely in the fridge, mustard seed instead of fennel seed and a healthy sprinkle of Lebanese 7 Spice and it came out nicely warming. Just what we needed after four days of snow. Would happily make again.
Dydd 228 of #365DaysOfFood with our own garlic and butternut squash. Hoping this will be nice - never knowingly eaten fennel before and I'm a bit put off by the smell...

Something mentioned in my next book is how rich men like Carnegie perverted Survival of the Fittest to substantiate their positions
Humans survive and prosper due to cooperation, not the strength of a leader. Cooperation, sympathy, love, etc. survive long after a leader dies.
That's how we flourish
Here is the Trump Doctrine, as articulated by Stephen Miller in his truly frightening interview with Jake Tapper this afternoon. It is very much like the doctrine of the dictators we fought and defeated in World War II and of Putin today. It is un-American at its very core.

Let's talk about generative AI, contaminated information, and rhubarb.

Once upon a time, Europe was at war.

Food was scarce, and the government of the quote-unquote United Kingdom looked for alternatives. 1/

We need a global move away from fossil fuels for many reasons, and "making Donald Trump look stupid" is absolutely one of them.

Bafflingly there are still people out there in the world who think being passionate about nature is “kind of weird”. or “a niche interest”. These people have it all wrong. Nature isn’t some quirky sideline to the main business. It IS the main business. Nature is us.
