You might remember me from Creative Latitude, Designers Who Blog, NO!SPEC, or Women Learn Thai. These days I’m hanging out in Devon with The Man, three Maine Coons and a crazy Staffy.

Unless noted, photos are my own.
Valentine’s Day drive to Buckland-in-the-Moor. There was ONE sunny day this week and today (this morning anyway) was it. I expected more cars on the tiny country lanes but it wasn't awful. And we managed to get behind a ginormous farm vehicle, which meant everyone coming towards us had to give way.

Well this sucks. Thursday night the vacuum does its thing. Friday morning I take over, hitting the stairs plus the upstairs, the kitchen and the sunroom.

During, it was sunny. Now that I'm ready to garden it's raining.

And that's why Brits drop everything to run outside when there's sun? Ugh.

No Colin Cotterill on bluesky? Pooh. I'd love to share his recent ICE/Chihuahua cartoon (posted on FB) but cannot?

The UK is wet wet wet. Relentlessly wet. And things are happening. Hellebores (earlier). Cherry blossoms (now). Frogs (uncovered prematurely).

My gardening schedule says it’s time to cut back decorative grasses. I was late last year and regretted it (blinked and new shoots were coming up through dead stems).

But either way, taking special care is critical. Isn’t he sweet? Especially all in one piece 😊

OTD 2020: Clean Air for Everyone?

"Unfortunately, today the government is telling growers in central Thailand to switch from corn to sugarcane. This will increase the smoke by returning us to when sugarcane was the largest source of smoke in Thailand."

The man drove to Brighton (it was hopping!) and back. His aim? Lanes Armoury, known for antique weapons (militaria). He also stopped at the Royal Pavilion. I’d pass on the Armoury but I’d love to see the Pavilion at some point!

Powerful wind last night… yet another chore to add to my never ending to-do list. Do we repurpose or build something new? Decisions … decisions …

Stoke Gabriel, where the man stayed on holiday as a kid.

Memories (his, obviously) … the uncle they’d visit would drive around the village in an old Volkswagen, yelling ‘ice cream lickers’ at any invading tourists.

There’s a scenic walk that goes up and over the top of our property, then down and around to our front door. Handy for pushing away from the phone, for starters. And starting tomorrow, I'm going to be doing more of that (getting out) and less of what I've been doing (scrolling through tragedies).
