If you’re on a platform where you can run Steam and programs via Proton, that’s how I do it; just add the openXcom exe as a non steam game, set compatibility to proton experimental, and it works great 😊

OpenXCom has everything fixed. Turns out there were a LOT of things to fix, too. The old source code was a nest of bugs.

They have since apologized, cleaned up their act (mostly) and returned to the OpenXCom forums.
But it's still a pretty huge red flag that they still run a community chat server on decentralized chat-service Matrix for stuff too 'spicy' for Discord. If your community needs one of those...

Im watching an openxcom handmode let's play and so far it's been very funny how every terror mission has required immediate mission aborts. The last one has two cyber disks and a crysilid immediately visible from the starting area.
