ordering a basket of meshtastic nodes for the homies

Enjoyed learning the process of setting up a cluster of tiny PCs for parallel computing. A note to myself on installing Ubuntu, passwordless SSH, automating package installation across nodes, distributing #rstats simulations, and comparing CV5 vs CV10 performance. Fun project!

Yeah, that hit me too. PDSs are basically validator nodes that happen to store personal data instead of coins. Way more useful than most blockchains.

Upload Labs- This is a free idle game where the general theme is you're doing stuff with computers, and the aesthetic is the nodes-and-wires UI common to all modern game design tools. Someone pointed me at it when it was new, and it was quick enough to finish it, but

i have 6 nodes. i believe all of them can be reflashed to run meshcore.

i'm still getting nodes and message popping up, on meshtastic. i drive around los angeles a lot.

haven’t been able to check bluesky all day cause of the stray pig situation, but look! @anisota.net showing the full real notification count! it’s a small feature, but i really like being able to see more than just “30+”

A first pass at procedural fur textures with geometry nodes - you define the tufts and let math do the rest.

ig that's not entirely true, Claude made many comfyui nodes that don't work

It took me an embarrassing amount of time to realize that for I think most current users it is:
phone <-- bluetooth --> mesh node <--> network.

I'm considering putting up 3 solar powered nodes at my rugby pitch where I can have some height and decent antennas. But leaning core from what I gather.

January 16, 2026 at 11:13 PM

I do but a lot of the other nodes in my city are too far away from me :(

I need to play around with it more to see if I can boost the range somehow or if I just need a less shitty antenna.

I have a few nodes and they are interesting.

Did some experimentation with 4x4x4 voxel block compression today. I'm using a 64 tree with block compression applied at the leaf nodes. 3 interpolation bits per voxel. You can definitely see some compression artifacts. Both trees in this comparison store 8 bit RGB colors.

Hey unreal if you're not going to make your delay nodes work when they're connected to your for loops, you can at least flag them with warnings or errors since every amateur programmer is going to inevitably fall into that ditch.

I've just learned about "The Burn" in Star Trek canon. I guess everyone uses singularity drives, then? At least, to move between nodes of that myconid network thingy, right?
