So after I saw the new Nosferatu (Newsferatu) (or Nosferatnew), I went and got my hands on the original and then this was up next but I got distracted. Anyhow, off we go, with #Nosfertuvember, a subsidiary of #Novampire (a month for vampire movies etc).

something really funny in total warhammer 3 is that there's a subfaction of cathay (fantasy china) thats meant to be a vampire offshoot of their main empire. but the game only has models for the og vampires who are based on transylvania. so you get people named Yuewei Xiaolan and they look like this

My main critique of Sinners was that the plot was peripherally similar to an inverted From Dusk Till Dawn. Still an 8.5/10, narrowly beaten out in the recent vampire flick category by Eggers' Nosferatu, which I give a solid 9.

A handful of portraits from Jack Kent's Sketchy People series, which are generally sketches of people he's seen around Portland A portrait of a woman in a poofy dress holding a parasol. When I first moved to Portland, I was living in the Belmont area and in the summers there was a young woman who I'd see walking down the sidewalk usually wearing a black lacy mini-dress carrying a giant black lace parasol to help keep her natural pallor. I tried not to gawk too obviously and couldn't come up with any non-creepy way to try to start a conversation with her and never saw her in any other setting. A living mystery of my mind, like the colonial-garb woman of Davis Square (Somerville, MA), I've sometimes wondered if she was still walking by the pioneer cemetary, parasol in hand. I think I have at least one Drakewood comic in my bins. My collection is utterly random. I do focus in on some things to complete my collections. Like Captain Carrot, John Carter.

I went looking for one book because a question to the public popped up in my feed. Trying to find it, I found Transylvania Station by Donald & Abby Westlake with a Gahan Wilson cover.

Finally got round to watching Nosferatu & Dracula (2025) - Nos was top tier, thematically marvellous but I wasn't a fan of its ending as beautiful as it was- Dracula, I enjoyed the old man in castle scenes & the manic pixie bff vampire, but overall it kind of fell flat for me

Not fair to brand all vampires as 'parasites'. I'm a fair vampire (leave 50% of the blood in the body after feeding) in an area that is full of delicious, warm, pulsing life-blood. I've no quarrel with bad vampires being outed but this type of generalisation is unfair

My personal favorite is the striped hyena in Nosferatu lol. I'm not sure what would make it vampire-y enough for me, I think I need a few days to think it over before I make any decisions.
