#NEWSOM
Newsom is bad because he'll lead to another right wing surge, therefore you will help that right-wing surge win in 28. got it.

what were you mad at if not the actual words of my post? did you see your favorite shitlib quote me and not actually read it? or did you see a trans woman angry about gavin newsom in other posts and jump to conclusions? let's really drill down to which kind of dumb you are

Your guy, Gavin Newsom. The guy whose honor you're defending. The guy who keeps agreeing with the nazis he hangs out with that trans people's rights to healthcare and to participate in public society need to be curtailed.

Governor Newsom works with UK to help combat global climate crisis. On a side note trump continues to create global warming by way of personal methane emissions while praising clean coal and snuggling his latest pacifier trophy.
February 16, 2026 at 8:19 PM
Also not going to be a member of Biden’s cabinet (sorry Pete) or someone who was in DC then. A governor-Newsom, Pritzker, Moore, Beshear. I think Shapiro made a big mistake bashing Harris.
February 16, 2026 at 8:19 PM
I really hope they don’t push Newsom on us.
February 16, 2026 at 8:19 PM
A reminder for my trans homies who are currently, uh, freaking out at the prospect of a Gavin Newsom Presidency (I do not think he will win the primary, frankly):
San Francisco began issuing same sex marriage licenses today in 2004 after a directive from Mayor Gavin Newsom.
February 16, 2026 at 8:19 PM
I have to hope he's saying this to send a message, IDK.

I am no Newsom fan but I'd vote for any Democratic nominee over Vance or any other Republican.
February 16, 2026 at 8:19 PM
Newsom is literally advocating for it and the Dems use labour for consultants, a child could recognize the risk you’re ignoring
February 16, 2026 at 8:19 PM
Obama entered the primary in early 2007, with a year to go before even the Iowa Caucus. It is in fact too early, and most of us have offered plenty of alternatives. I'll support AOC or Pritzker or others happily. Newsom can eat shit though.
February 16, 2026 at 8:18 PM
I don't think Black women are who I'm worried about, in the advent of an AOC candidacy. I'm more worried about a Cuomo 2.0, in which establishment figures deflate or divert. I may have my political feelers askew, but taking a stronger stance on ICE (contra Newsom) would likely appeal to said voters
February 16, 2026 at 8:17 PM
there's a difference between "not being all the way there" and McBride, Newsom and Mace aggreeing on banning trans people from public society - all while Newsom invites BEN FUCKING SHAPIRO who *explicitly* called for the eradication of trans people
February 16, 2026 at 8:17 PM
no one i know irl, average folks not terminally inline, think newsom is good either

go touch grass and get a real candidate
February 16, 2026 at 8:17 PM
Lol my father in law was so taken aback when he asked me about Newsom and I was like “fuck that guy”
February 16, 2026 at 8:17 PM
Louder for those in the back: STOP LETTING THE PERFECT BE THE ENEMY OF THE EXISTENTIALLY SAFER CHOICE.

(Unless it's Newsom because seriously fuck that guy please don't vote for him in the primary. But if he wins the nom, as much as the conceit crushes my soul to admit, FINE, I'll…🤢… vote…for…him…🤮)
February 16, 2026 at 8:17 PM
If the option is “Newsom or Vance” I’ll vote for Newsom as the less horrible option.

But I would very much like the Dems to stop pretending he’s the inevitable choice and to field a much better bench than him, because he is still irredeemably horrible.
February 16, 2026 at 8:16 PM
If you don’t want people to not vote for Newsom in the general out of moral principle, sandbag the hell out of him in the primary to make sure it never even gets to that point. Simple.
February 16, 2026 at 8:16 PM
Newsom is a centrist candidate. Enough people assume that the president will run for a third despite his declining health and how that's unconstitutional, but Newsom seem to be a "safe" bet. Two years until the primaries and Newsom's comments transgender people will not be forgotten.
February 16, 2026 at 8:15 PM
This kind of thing is the why the "Will you vote for Newsom" gotchas are so exhausting and why if you're discussing what a streamer said to their audience, you're just falling for the game.
Have you ever once seen the New York Times quote Trump like this?
February 16, 2026 at 8:15 PM
Agreed - But everyone's zooming past that part and bizarrely assuming Newsom gets the nomination and then making declarations about it.

You don't have to do that, but it seems like that's where the angry juice is for people.
February 16, 2026 at 8:15 PM
I would 100% vote for Gavin Newsom. Vote to put him in the Contraption.

Also where on earth have I said I just LOOOOVE Gavin Newsom? Because I don't remember ever saying that.
February 16, 2026 at 8:14 PM
Coming here just to say:
-Hasan is right.
-Do not obey in advance.
-Even those who excite us (AOC, Mandani) need to be pushed to become more left. While those who are center right (Newsom), need to be opposed.
-I am not a US citizen. However, I work helping immigrants on their immigration matters.
