so this mid-2000s speculation about 'maybe Real Thinking is just permanently expensive (but also humans do it cheaply by hard gating bc they can never spend more than a lightbulbs power draw to think more (this it totally incoherent but breeze past this))' just doesn't work anymore. dead argument.

First I bought those LED lightbulbs with batteries built in so they work if the power goes out, then I bought the solar generator. You’re welcome Providence, we’re never going to have a blackout again!

At my husband's high school, in the 90s, a group of teens made a video of themselves going through all of the schools hidden corridors and bomb shelter and they come across a random guy allegedly counting lightbulbs. It plays like the best found footage movie I've ever seen
