#Kurosawa’s
I watched Kurosawa’s Yojimbo for the first time last night. Kinda felt like a knockoff of Leone’s A Fistful of Dollars if you ask me. Pretty mid.

if you refer to Akira Kurosawa’s work as “homework cinema,” do you even like movies?

The Rashomon Effect – how Akira Kurosawa's 1950 masterpiece illuminates the science of how memories form and falter in the brain (with a requisite side of Borges, of course) www.themarginalian.org/2021/06/29/r...

Highest 2 Lowest is the new Spike Lee film, a remake of Kurosawa's High and Low, based on the Ed McBain 87th Precinct novel King's Ransom. It's really good. It's on Apple.

Guinea Fowl is a black comedy-drama from Zambia about a woman who finds her uncle dead and the family secrets that come out...⬇️

Did you know that for Akira Kurosawa's Godzilla he fired actual tank shells at the lizard playing Godzilla? That's real fear he's showing. It caused the lizard to have PTSD flashbacks to his time in the war.

Incredibly Disconcerting.

Kurosawa's spare use of sound and formal presentation activates my fight-or-flight, where everyday settings immediately become horrific.

I was completely on edge the entire time. Within a 40 minute duration, so much isolation and dissociating moods.

I saw Kurosawa's Hidden Fortress the other day, which is excellent but also gut-bustingly hilarious, some gags are ZAZ levels of incredible and absurd comic timing

It's clear he's more inexperienced, as is Kurosawa but it's still something special. Recommend it! I'm curious to see Red Beard now as a comparison.
Kim called it Kurosawa's House and it's so right.

I'd seen a handful of Kurosawa's before, but diving deeper into his filmography has been one of the most rewarding things I've done in a long time. So many incredible films.

Watching the Showa-era Godzilla set and a load of the related films was great. So much goofy joy.

I don't know if it's because of old Westerns or Akira Kurosawa's Rashomon, but I've always romanticized desolate train stations in the middle of nowhere.

Time for my annual viewing of one of the greatest movies of all time.
Akira Kurosawa's #SevenSamurai.
I've watched it every New Years Eve for several years now and I never get bored of it.
One of my favourite movies!

The fans were from an SIF background. I don't remember why I wanted the red lines on both sides. I guess I just felt like it? I used the color/line-altering effect here too, but a bit differently. I added tiny gold-ish copies of an outline of Dia's flower symbol to some sections of the two fans.
