Generating formidable grassroots momentum since July, Navy veteran, civil rights attorney, and Scottsville Supervisor on the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors Mike Pruitt is well positioned to do just that. Pruitt outraised McGuire by $53,763 last quarter, generating $223,585 compared to McGuire’s $169,822. A challenger outraising a congressional incumbent is rare and demonstrates that Pruitt has the momentum needed to flip this critical seat. Pruitt’s formidable fundraising momentum is fueled by grassroots support, with over 7,000 unique donations and an average contribution of $39. Pruitt has now earned more than 30 local endorsements throughout the 5th District. Even Mayor Wade was not 100% sure last night, but the two Democratic nominees for City Council are Jen Fleisher and JuanDiego Wade since both got over a-third of the vote. Didn't need any count beyond Round 1, which is what the official "unofficial" tally at VDOE says.

I think it's pretty safe to call this at this point. Even if some early voting and provisional ballots push Wade below 33%, it's hard to imagine Fleisher voters overwhelmingly preferring Pinkston given the first-round distribution
