New Black Series Jango encounter MAFEX Mandalorian-Style Boba, which I do not strongly recommend since the antenna on his helmet disintegrated and then the replacement I was sent also broke. I made one better and it gives me material to work with for repairs, but you shouldn’t do all of that. Plus I think he is cooler looking in his own show with the tight pants and some dings on that helmet that seems to be sexually attracted to projectiles and rough surfaces, in defiance of the helmet painting station aboard his ship, the Slave 1. I REFUSE TO CALL IT ANYTHING ELSE. Just kidding. Like I give a shit. Call me woke, but I don’t know that children’s toy names should contain the word slave. It’s also not the coolest name for a ship in a show where you are trying to make its owner a…hero? The Gentlest Gangster? Goal was unclear there a bit. Hmmm, oh yeah. I say fine to call it Slave 1 if that’s what you’re used to since that’s the name. If you are weirdly super defiant and aggressive about it the box of a Lego set not saying SLAVE on it, get fucked I guess. And by that I mean definitely get fucked in the face.

Until it became a liability during Me Too, Taibbi's response to criticisms of the Exile book used to be...

He then fell out of touch, re-emerged a month later, and agreed to meet me for lunch at a Manhattan restaurant. I arrived late, and he was visibly annoyed. There was no boyish smile. “I just don’t see why you’re doing this story,” he said. When I told him that Ames was now living in New York he grew more agitated. I mentioned some of the Exile pieces of his I planned to write about, and he said, “That was covered in the book.” I told him yes, that was true, but the book had been published in 2000, and, frankly, I didn’t think it was very good. “The book wasn’t good?” he said. “No, I didn’t think so,” I said. “My book?” he said. “Yes, the Exile book. I thought it was redundant and discursive and you guys left out a lot of the good stuff you did,” I said. At this, Taibbi’s mouth turned down and his eyes narrowed. “Fuck you,” he snarled, and then picked up his mug from the table, threw his coffee at me, and stormed out. The restaurant was packed with customers, and they all turned to watch as I sat there, stunned, coffee dripping from my face. The waiter arrived with the milkshake Taibbi had ordered. After wiping myself off a bit, I went outside, where Taibbi was putting on his coat, and asked him to calm down and come back into the restaurant. He walked up to me, glaring, beside himself with rage. “Fuck you!” he yelled. “Did you bring me here to insult me? Who are you? What have you ever written? Fuck you!” I tried to talk to him, but gave up when he walked away. I went back inside, paid the bill, left, and began walking up Sixth Avenue. Halfway up the block, I turned around, and Taibbi was behind me. “Are you following me?,” I asked. He walked toward me, raising his arms as though preparing to throttle me or take a swing. “I still haven’t decided what I’m going to do with you!” he said. “Are you kidding?,” I asked. And at that moment I thought he might be kidding. There was part of me that thought it must have been a prank. I half expected some old Exile accomplice, maybe even Ames, to jump out from behind a tree with a camera. Maybe they’d been setting me up all along. Maybe there was horse sperm in the coffee. But the anger in Taibbi’s eyes was genuine, and, after some more glaring, he fumed off. That was the last I saw of him. Eventually, Taibbi sent lengthy responses to e-mailed lists of questions. “I once considered Mark my best friend,” he wrote. “When I left I never thought I was burning my bridges to The Exile permanently, and being shut out as I have been from all contact with the paper I helped build during these seven years, not even having my letters answered at any time by Mark or anyone else on the paper during that period, this is one of the truly unhappy things that has ever happened in my life. Both The Exile and Mark’s friendship were very important to me, as were the memories of both of those things, and I’ve lost all of that now. That I’m now being accused of not only wanting to harm the paper, but desiring Mark’s maiming or even his death, only deepens my sadness about all of this.” He went on to say that “most people by the time they get old are full of regrets about the things they never got around to doing when they were young, but thanks to the paper I won’t ever have that problem.” But, he concluded, “if you romanticize any of that ugliness, I’m pretty sure you’re missing the point.”

Cruelty, she thought, that he held all of this. “And what if I said that helping you would be what I enjoyed?” Stephanivien coaxed warmly, eyes lulling with hers as she struggled to focus. “Just tell me what to do.” "Aye" Snapping his attention back up to him, Orion's tail flicked behind him without thought. "Aye?" “Aye, I’ve looked at men how you’re describing. That answer your question?” Granson asked, tucking his arms against his chest. “Anythin’ else you need pry from my mystery?” Yes, Orion’s mind said with an eager sort of shout that rang in his ears. Yes, he wanted to know more. He wanted everything he had done, everyone he ever fancied. History that would affirm him that he was someone he could look at that way. History that would say ‘in another life I could’ve had you.’ But that was pointless, wasn’t it? Say he was his type. Say he did want him. Say that they had a glorious and fleeting moment of bliss before it all faded to white when Orion returned to the source. What would that change? What would it help? Nothing. After all, this wasn’t his world, he was just responsible for saving it. Nothing less. Nothing more. “No, that’s all I wanted,” Orion answered, voice drawing quiet with disappointment laced with bitter relief. “Consider me sated.” "Sometimes I wonder what it would be like if I hadn't come over to the bar that day," Granson muttered, quirking his mouth into a smile. "A lot less interesting, I wager." "Far less!" Turning on his heel, Orion skipped forward a step and so with it his tail flicked in the air. "So, you do think I'm funny… I was starting to wonder if you just didn't have a sense of humor at all. Or rather, you did, but I wasn't part of it. A shame if true, thank the Gods it isn't." "You always talk like this or am I just special?" "Both, my blade," Orion offered, winking at him. Snatching a small towel, he wet it in the basin before wringing it out. Each little step known and done over and over between them for years now. Years. A fact Orion hadn't ruminated on much until this moment—how long had he been with him? It could be centuries and he would accept that answer easily. The thought must have rested on his expression for Granson's turned to mirror it in his own way. Soft and knowing. To say a general undercurrent of sorrow has been with me my whole life would be an understatement but lately I've been feeling really positive. .
