Given the history of these companies and these studios and how often they’ve taken advantage of actors and barely treated them as humans
Why would anyone trust them to not have their fingers crossed behind their backs when giving the most rudimentary “no AI I swear” promise?

Additionally, I was offered "NO AI" clauses that were not protected by union arbitration while the same companies were ACTIVELY REFUSING AI PROTECTIONS with the union during strike negotiations. Why would I ever believe them?

This is why I was not willing to trust any company that isn't willing to put something in writing, and even if they do, they will often budget for violations of those agreements. I don't have a budget for legal fees. They do. Non-union voice work was too big of a risk when they do want they want.

I am admittedly not that well versed in the legal semantics of licensing and distribution, but I imagine doing any kind of dub without approval from the original studio is THE worst thing you can do if you wanna maintain a business relationship with them. Worse if it's AI.
