I've been out for the last five nights in a row that is at least four nights too many, despite all the nice things I've done and the lovely people I've seen.

AND supporting your local library is super important! If you actually DO want books to be available to everyone, the library *already exists* and is staffed by the people who are deep in the trenches of fighting censorship! Supporting the library is doing actual good for your community!
TAPS SCREEN

For like the zillionth time: Libraries are FREE for you, but WE still get compensated for our work!!
Just saw someone claim that authors who want to be paid for their work are "class traitors" because we "only let the wealthy" read our books, and I think I need to go into the woods to scream into the night for a bit.

It's $5, not your first-born child! I need that $5 for health insurance!

Anybody who is like “Piracy is activism!”—trust me, supporting your local library is about 1000% more effective activism, and it’s still free for you and authors still get paid!

There's an advert on his website for a 'Depot Supervisor' that pays £12.75 an hour for shift work.
If he wants to reduce welfare spending maybe he should pay staff enough that they don't need in-work benefits.

Any type of fruit crumble > any type of fruit pie.
Apple crumble > apple pie

The first time my family gave me this I honestly thought they were fucking with me and seeing how far they could push me before I lost it over how badly Americans mess up a simple roast on Thanksgiving.

Don't even get me started on beans in mushroom soup!
My Thanksgiving food take that no one asked for: The sweet-potatoes-with-marshmallows-on-top dish is gross. It is way too sweet to be anywhere near turkey, mashed russet potatoes, green beans, etc. There is cranberry sauce. Serve it for dessert if you want, but wouldn’t you rather have pie?

The thing about the Linehan case is that either the Judge is sympathetic to 'gender critical' ideology or British law thinks it's perfectly acceptable for a 57 year old man to stalk, doxx and physically attack a 17 year old girl.

Both explanations are horrifying.

I was so excited to try pumpkin pie at my first Thanksgiving.

It's basically baby food in pastry. It isn't good.

Maybe if you made a homemade savoury pumpkin pie, with the right balances of spices it would be good, but that's not what most people have.
Ok this take is unhinged BUT I have my own version of this, which is that I actually hate pumpkin pie.
Apple pie is bad. This is not really debatable. So is key lime pie, while we’re on the topic. Pecan pie is the 🐐 tho.

So hey, I wrote a book!

Has anyone ever sent their cut in half driving licence back to the DVLA? Doesn't everyone just chuck them in a drawer with old passports etc?

A guy next to me in the theatre used Chat GPT to find out a summary of the Ireland v South Africa match yesterday. You know, rather than just picking any free sports outlet and using his brain to read an article written by an actual journalist and draw his own conclusions. Idiot.

Given that I didn't watch the second half of the match I'll just assume Wales finished on a similar score to how I left them at the end of the first half...

Can confirm that this isn't the show to take your mother to unless you know you have the sort of relationship where you don't mind listening to a guy talking about wanking and other such things! Luckily I do have that relationship and we both enjoyed it a lot!

I think Hollie is an excellent ref. I'm exceptionally happy to see a woman ref an international men's match.

I am also incredibly impressed by the neatness of her bun while running around for 80 minutes. My hair would never be that well behaved. #WALvNZL

The online training reminds me of what happens in crisis pregnancy centres, while the censoring of criticism reminds me of some other “new solutions to women’s issues” that brook no criticism or challenge, and end up harming vulnerable women.

What makes it so awful too is that obstetric violence is real, it is true that women are ignored and harmed by the medical profession but this is not she cannot be the answer.

Saw that America's Next Top Model was on E4 and thought I'd go back down memory lane.

In season 16, this woman was called 'curly and curvy'. I think, for the sake of not triggering my ED, I should mot be watching this.

Got to my PT session 22 minutes late. Finished on time and still got everything in, just a bit more intense.

But, more excitingly, I did deadlifts for the first time in about 3 months today. Bad knee *seems* ok, but we'll see later/tomorrow how angry it is with me.

I usually sleep one side of the bed & Alan sleeps on the other. He likes to snuggle at night & I don't. So normally he sleeps on his side and I sleep on mine. Except the last two nights he is both on my side and snuggling up to me. And of course I cant move him, he'd never forgive me.

Bloody cat.
