To me, the moral of the story whether the “SAVE” act passes or not is to get a passport now if you possibly can. Yes, it’s $150 to process and a bit of a pain up front, it but once you have it, it’s good for 10 years and is the only form of ID that incontrovertibly, globally proves citizenship.
