#Gloating
LEFT: Heartfelt condolences on Rob Reiner's death from a kind, stable person who should have been president.

RIGHT: Obscene gloating over Rob Reiner's death from a delusional sociopath who never should have been president.

/2 Has Trump ever felt joy? Has he ever had a truly happy day? Does he have any fond memories at all? Has he ever experienced anything closer to contentment than gloating, or smugness, or fleeting satisfaction in demeaning others?

Save this post for gloating purposes.

If you are a Republican and do not denounce the evil of Donald Trump gloating and making the murder of Rob & Michele Reiner all about himself, you are NOT a Christian. Please stop pretending. You're not fooling the rest of us.

He's not just gloating. He's saying Reiner was "reportedly" murdered by a Trump supporter, which is obviously untrue, and therefore it's good and justified. Even for him, this is overtly calling for people to go murder his critics because it makes him happy. He is literally a terrorist.
this is one of the most psychotic things Trump has ever posted

I keep saying: “celebrity”. There’s a different set of norms when that kind of thing happens to a famous person and voters know it. People found his crude gloating shocking and off-putting in a way they weren’t used to.

...Matt Walsh thinks you went too far being a piece of shit gloating about the death of people on the other side of the political spectrum? Matt Walsh? That Matt Walsh?

Huh. That's. A time.

i feel so bad for the reiner family

imagine not only having to endure such a complicated tragedy, but have everyone talking about it, including the evil leader of your country gloating about it

Trump isn't just gloating about Reiner being murdered, he's claiming that one of his supporters did it because Reiner disrespected Trump. He wants people to think a MAGA did this. That's a terrifying escalation in the rhetoric.

the self-serving commentary at the end, i expected, but i think a man and his wife being stabbed to death and trump gloating about him falling to "Trump Derangement Syndrome" is a shocking level of boorishness
December 15, 2025 at 2:59 PM
You can tell its an intellectually honest piece by the way she both says liberals dont understand architecture as ideological and then immediately switches to gloating that their ideological vision of the WH is subsumed by Trumps rn

Aaron Maté says that Trump's statement gloating about Rob Reiner's murder is "sick".

...But then Maté says that Reiner "did have Trump Derangement Syndrome, I think, I actually think that Trump was right about that" and adds that Reiner "succumbed to the Russiagate mania".

Aside from the disgusting gloating, nastiness and narcissism of this post how fucking ironic that this demented arsehole uses the phrase “Trump Derangement Syndrome” when most people on this planet thinks that’s exactly what he has!

Using the violent deaths of a man and his wife to settle political scores is obscene. Mockery, gloating, and “TDS” taunts in the face of tragedy reveal moral emptiness. This isn’t leadership — it’s cruelty weaponized.

Oh ma gawd, I was waiting for the sanism! We were all doing so good describing Trump having a black hole where his heart should be & gloating over Reiner's murder before they started reverting to the easy ways, calling him insane.
December 15, 2025 at 3:38 PM
It’s not even in the top 30 most morally bankrupt things he’s done, but the orange demon gloating about the loss of a beloved director in a country that mistakes quoting movies for a personality is both disgusting and unwise.

This reads to me like gloating.

Is Trump claiming credit for having something to do with the murder?

Who reported this to him?

was someone urging the murderer to do violence in person or online?
I’m thinking of a word.

It rhymes with hunt.

Big, fat, repugnant hunt.

I don’t know what’s worse the bs about breaking the constitution or the gloating that she gave him $250m thanks to Citizens United
December 17, 2025 at 2:04 AM
Reiner was a stark Trump critic, so waiting for the TS post gloating about the news.
December 15, 2025 at 3:16 AM
The gloating is unreal
December 14, 2025 at 10:23 PM
gloating about this after we just had a mass shooting is pretty gross. ok, you are so much better than us, thanks for sharing
Just want to share with my American friends how the Australians respond to a shooting tragedy. Action, rather than thoughts and prayers.

Inevitability used to be a lot more gloating. I also think many of them have moved in how they talk about which parts are inevitable.

It used to be "AI is inevitable, artists will just have to adapt or die."

Now it's "well of course there should be restrictions, but at least *some* is inevitable."
December 18, 2025 at 1:11 AM
His supporters will have already known about this horrible thing happening, and learned about it through (more-or-less) appropriately respectful news coverage. Then to be suddenly confronted with this guy's vicious gloating? It's a kind of moral whiplash.
