They appear to be Yellow Fieldcap Mushrooms, Bolbitius titubans.
They grow in rotten hay and cow patties, which would fit since they were found next to the hay beside a cattle corral.

"The Yellow Fieldcap is generally regarded as inedible, and its small size and thin flesh mean that there is little temptation to try eating this insubstantial mushroom."

Good morning my lovelies! Last week flew by in a whirl of walks in the Welsh borders. Walks that, happily, contained a significant number of #fungi which I find infinitely qualified to become #TheSmallThings #SpreadingJoy

Saprobic (wood decaying) Poplar Fieldcap in a hole in what I thought was dead Ash; but could have been White Poplar, as these non natives are quite common on the South Downs. Chantry Hill, West Sussex.

A late morning High Weald walk last week and just in time to see the Egg-yolk Fungus or Cow-Pat Mushroom or Sunny Side Up or Yellow Fieldcap or Bolbitius titubans as they age fast but readily identifiable.

The Wrinkled Fieldcap (Agrocybe rivulosa) first recorded in 2004 & grows only on wood chip.

Increasingly common but still only 352 records on the Fungus Conservation Trust's CATE2 database.
