This hatred gradually developed: from ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.

Auschwitz took time.

A Tawny owl (Strix aluco) also taken in The Scottish Wildlife Trusts' Bawisnch and Duddingston Nature Reserve, Edinburgh. A Common Snipe (Gallinago gallinago). This stick is situated just a few feet out into Duddingston Loch right in front of a small hide. I have spent many hours sitting watching that stick and seen absolutely nothing land on it. Until one day a Snipe of all things landed on it!
