I long for the days when conspiracy theorists were only found on the fringes and barbershops

I know the CIA has done terrible things but they aint responsible for this nonsense. We just lowered the bar too much lol
Several people who I know irl and should know better, have, in recent days, credulously shared conspiracy theories with me about the Epstein Files and Savannah Guthrie and idk I think everyone’s brains are getting worse.

Merlin Daleman – Mutiny

“I returned to find a country frozen in time. Whilst London had flourished the communities of the economic north were left behind. Cities once full of factories were filled with foodbanks, barbershops and fading hopes.” - Merlin Daleman

Birmingham homicides are down nearly 70% so far this year: 4 cases vs. 13 at the same point in 2025. But city leaders say lasting safety means investing earlier. A new Black Male Initiative will focus on boys ages 8–14, using mentorship, schools, and even barbershops as trusted entry points.

I do not envy you! I take our boys to the barber, tell the stylists to make them look like Brad Pitt's character in the movie "Fury," and generally do not think about it until the next time. Not so straightforward for other folks unfortunately! 👍

Today we were out on the ground in Lewisham salons and barbershops, bringing real conversations about health into everyday spaces.

Our Blood Pressure team offered free checks and advice, while our HIV Testing team provided confidential testing and support all in trusted community spaces

[vermutlich nicht sehr originelle] Hypothese:
ein Grund für die Popularität von Barbershops und die aktuellen Frisurtrends bei Männern sind die guten Feelings, die man bekommt, wenn einem einer so am Schädel rumrasiert

the problem is we're getting our slang from incels instead of from little girls, ballroom culture and barbershops as is proper

There are more normally priced haircuts around just not convenient to me. Walking distance from my home or work is all pricey barbershops. The cheap haircuts are all at least an hours bus trip away.

After Nigel Farage suggested Turkish barbershops were fronts for money laundering and drug running, this barbershop in Glasgow decided to respond.

G11 Barbers in Partick teamed up with street artist Rebel Bear to hit back at the Reform leader brilliantly 😂

Truthfully, I think the Internet made a small micro burst of awful within the black community. because it took away our time with the barbershops, and the churches, and the beauty shops and Mary Kay parties. Without stories from our ancestors being pumped through us, we get led astray
