#BACKBLAZE
I use Backblaze! (but just for backups).

closest thing that comes to mind at the moment is the unlimited backup service Backblaze, which publishes extensive stats on hard drive reliability and currently operates over 328,000 hard drives: www.backblaze.com/cloud-storag...

It was a lifesaver when Apple released TimeMachine in the late 2000s. It does an initial full backup and then backs up any changes every hour automatically. I also use Backblaze and Box for cloud backup and storage.

trying to work up the courage to delete the Backblaze backup for my old computer even though i have everything on that machine that i actually care about backed up to my new laptop AND i have an additional mirror of the old machine on a separate external drive

HIGHLY recommend Backblaze by the way lol

$100 a year (per machine), unlimited (yes, ACTUALLY unlimited) backup

V stressed bc despite € not coming in I had to buy lots of delayed shit in the past 2 weeks (I was waiting for sales!), + cat stuff, AND 3 services I pay annually (Backblaze, 1pwd, etc.) renew now-ish. Anxiety & guilt way UP (do I rly need new knickers? a bra that fits? skincare?)
Fuck, the angst

New NAS installed.
Raid 10 plus a hot swap spare
31.98 TB of space

Only .6TB used, all backed up to a Backblaze S3 bucket.

This is overkill 😂

I suppose that is true, Backblaze or something off-site would be a real backup.

my silly habit of using tools or software that's generally not really necessary for just me is great experience.
I don't need to use backblaze b2 with my pds (I could easily store it on disk) or even just my own pds at all.
I don't need to host my own gitea instance or have played with gitlab

I use Backblaze and have had no complaints.

Same, I backup to my Synology for a local copy but Backblaze is my second set

the rabbit hole goes deep

Also...

- Being able to interact with their CDN.

- Bandwidth alliance for free egress on other of services like Backblaze B2.

- Better pricing than Vercel.

The DX is not as polished as Vercel but CF's cloud services have been great in my experience.

you could pay dollars a month to back up all of this to backblaze

I've been working on my #digitalsovereignty
This week I cancelled my Google One and Onedrive subscriptions. Now that I've got my home server backing up to Backblaze (with encryption!), I have all the redundancy I need.
