I can believe it because 1/3 voted for him. Think of all the ways that happens. The corrupt, stupid, guilty, antisocial, immoral, deluded, childish, ignorant, hateful, adversarial, nihilistic, and foolish.

Stop and really think about how many people embody at least one of these, openly and proudly.

I do wonder if the adversarial nature of it makes it harder for parents to accept not getting a diagnosis. Having to put years of effort in is going to leave them heavily invested in the idea

If they value intelligence as entities with rights, you have a chance. If you're just "sim #2002392301" and part of a mass sim test, you're probably getting shut off after they know you know.

You might just be part of a giant adversarial generation program sorting for something specific.

Gotcha, thanks! Yeah just wasn't sure if the process was defined in a way that if I made a rotation key with Service X, that later some other service would still be able to verify that the private and public key were a match if for whatever reason Service X was unavailable / adversarial.

I've read enough of the lit on the history and practice of content moderation and platform governance to know the support w/in tech companies for moderating online harms was always deeply conditional, and often even internally adversarial; but something drastically changed in the last 2 years.

Another argument:
We may have suggested violating union contracts, but it's really the districts fault and this is just more evidence they hate us. We should get approval then we'll fix it.

That's your takeaway?

Should an investigative journalist immediately make themselves adversarial to their subject?

You might not like that Wolf cozied up to Epstein, but by doing so he unlocked a lot more information that we'd have gotten otherwise. In writing not less.

With more to come.

Ive realized that since I semi-nuked my phone earlier this year, I’ve had to practically “fight” the algorithms on the two social media apps I still use actively.

This and IG.

Instagram is by far the most adversarial. It goes out of its way to show me the most rage bait versions of EVERYTHING

in an open context where I can evaluate directly, in adversarial discussion with other people also producing such" and if you can't inspect every CAUSE of where their priors came from, well, that's not really possible in most cases either. for instance "why" do I find economic reasoning generally

adversarial text production. and thinking the latter can be fine even if the former doesn't cite the *cause* of every belief. in the following way. I can't actually inspect your neural net, quinean deep belief web, epistemic mindreef, or whatever either in any direct way. what I can do, is evaluate

One of the more alarming aspects of President Donald Trump’s second term has been his willingness to deploy the National Guard into American cities he perceives as adversarial to his agenda.

I've found this difficult in gaming-adjacent spaces. Accepting the culture/tweaking the margins there often means doesn't touch the core of the 4chan-era, harmful bigotry. Hemming the margins doesn't meaningfully protect ppl in those cases and sometimes worsens the adversarial element, any advice?

I was logged into my pharmacy to check my medicines, and they post the prices without insurance, and one of my meds is $133.20 per month without insurance.
I can't help wondering how much it would cost in countries where the healthcare system isn't so adversarial.

On reporting on Trump II while the administration severely restricts press access:

"This climate reminds everybody that the core relationship is an adversarial relationship. You cannot expect any political entity to be helping you find out their secrets."

@joshtpm.bsky.social spoke to @columjournreview.bsky.social about why the core relationship in journalism has to be "adversarial," covering Trump II, and remaining an independent outlet.

“A very important goal is remaining in existence. We cannot take that for granted."

So our demented president who is waging war against our own cities, destroying the economy, abducting and murdering people, and thinks nobody knows how magnets work... is also a pedophile. Cool. Cool. Great.

Good thing our adversarial system of government is there to hold him in check!
