#1950’s
We've got to get the old ones out. The ones that still write sternly worded letters, like it's the 1950's.

Well, you and your buddy are pretty patronising towards women. You've probably saved up 1950's images with blindfolded women for such an occasion. It's probably how you'd like them to be.

Grew up in a 1950's built council estate. Walk end to end in 30mins and we had everything there, everything. Then Thatcher/profit before people/neoliberalism. Then everything closed. And now it's a radical new plan to curtail our freedoms by having access to everything we already had.

This cowboy blanket has been in the family since the 1950’s. Now another generation gets to use it

My parents came to America late 1950’s. I was born in 1960. They took us back numerous times to their respective areas. Very rural Connemara. I’ve been back more times than I remember. I hold dual citizenship. Every time is harder to leave.

Going back to 1950's tax levels might actually help America Become Great Again...

Morticia Addams (Carolyn Jones) as a blonde in the 1950's ooh la la.

Something else you should be aware of , there is a rising tide of anti americanism happening in Europe . Even back in the late 1950's and 60's it was,nt as strong as it now appears to be .
China could wel profit from this .

yes, that is my grandmother's cedar chest in front of the window and my mother's 1950's standing lamp next to it.

Really funny to me. My grandmother’s home which I frequented in the 1950’s-60’s looked very much like this house though not as grand. My grandfather, I found out 10 yrs ago, was a bootlegger good fella. State prison. Mysterious death. No one spoke of him at all. Secrets lost. ‘splains a lot.

Garry Wills noticed this back in the 1950's-1960's re: right wing perspectives on the Soviet Union - it was viewed by them as both a failed system and as super powerful. His book 'Confessions of a conservative' highlights a lot of weird contradictions in right-wing 'thinking.'

What is happening in Minneapolis today is reminiscent of 1950’s & ‘60’s Birmingham & Selma.

Although it’s almost unbearably painful, we must keep our eyes on the prize: bringing into fruition a free, inclusive & peaceful country of people that care for each other & our environment.

A. J. Deutsch (1918-1969) was born on this day. He published one -- very interesting -- short story "A Subway Named Mobius" (1950). I wish he wrote more!

The 1950's featured iconic authors like J.D. Salinger, Jack Kerouac, Ernest Hemingway and William Faulkner.

The decade saw a tension between conformity and rebellion. Writers explored post war anxieties, dystopian futures, social critiques, and new forms of expression.

I recall a slimming pill, maybe 1950's, that worked until it was discovered the pill contained a baby Tapeworm.

Trump and his climate change deniers can beat their gums all they want but, we can see it coming in Scotland.

Our weather patterns are vastly different to when I was but a lad in the 1950's

It’s Robert Burns’ birthday and in there somewhere in my Michael Marra, Neil Gow, Dougie Maclean, growing up in Ayr tribute to socialist folks wandering about the hills of a weekend in the 1950’s pointing at things.

Today’s Minneapolians channeling the commitment to justice of #ViolaLiuzzo and #WilliamMoore from the 1950-early 60’s Civil Rights era.

The same evil animates these struggles: desire for white supremacy.

#ReneeGood and #AlexPretti were on the right side. Let’s not let their sacrifice be in vain.
"Be grateful to the people of Minneapolis.…Every single person who steps out their front door in Minneapolis to observe, document, & protest the actions of our government is taking their lives in their hands. These men and women are the kind of patriots you would have seen at Lexington & Concord." 👇
NEW: "The government didn’t just use masked, armed, unidentified agents of the state to execute a citizen on the street, in broad daylight and in front of dozens of witnesses—it lied about the victim and what happened in the most brazen manner possible."

Did this movie borrow the score from Plan 9 from Outer Space or do ya’ll think all cheap 1950’s sci fi movies used the same generic score collectively free of charge? #monochromecreeps
