Alford: "On Bad Bunny - we're still investigating. There's info out about the lyrics. I don't speak fluent Spanish, but if it's true what was said on natl TV, we have a lot of Qs for entities that broadcast it & we'll be talking w/ the FCC. This could be worse than the Janet wardrobe malfunction"

How did Bad Bunny utter not one word about Trump or authoritarianism at the Super Bowl yet deliver the most power message in 60 years of the game?

Leaving the obvious racism aside for a second -- Bad Bunny has sold over 100 million albums and just won the Grammy for Best Album of the Year and these chuds are acting like he's an obscure Tuvan throat-singing act or something.

By any objective measure, he is wildly wildly popular.
Both these options sound objectively amazing, why do racists keep assuming everyone's racist?

And now for the most academic (and accurate) take on the Bad Bunny halftime show...
If Bad Bunny can cover the history of Puerto Rico, colonialism, transatlantic slavery, hemispheric consciousness, as well as contemporary life and politics in under 14 minutes, you can do your 15- or 20-minute conference presentation with time to spare.

"El Apagón" is the song Bad Bunny was performing during this part of the halftime show using imagery that was apparently too subtle for some people

It's one of his most interesting songs with a ton of political context and meaning plus it’s an absolute banger
