Today is the 5th anniversary of my mom's passing and it has now been one week since I lost my dad. I feel blessed I was able to spend all the time I had with them in their final days and weeks and be beside them, at home, as they took their final breaths. They are at last reunited, and at peace.
The people who claim China's economy is about to collapse are the exact same ones who thought the 2008 financial crisis would never happen, and when it did happen, claimed it was actually good.

US Ambassador threatens to tariff, annex, and bomb Canada if anti-American sentiment doesn't improve
OTTAWA - U.S. Ambassador Pete Hoekstra has vowed to improve anti-American sentiment he sees in Canada, no matter how many illegal tariffs, forced annexations, or literal bombs it takes to do it.

some children in a concentration camp were born with or acquired disabilities and/or illness? how did that happen?
Children starving to death apparently doesn't count if they have disabilities or illness. Absolutely vile, sickening genocide denial coming out of Olivia and the "free press."
I recently looked up the Arabic translation of some of the names of the emaciated children used in coverage of the alleged famine in Gaza.

It turns out that many of them were sick before the war and have long, complicated medical histories. Our reporting shows they do not represent the average.

The key difference between the left and the centre is that (many) liberals philosophically reject the idea that democratic rights extend into the workplace

They imagine that “democracy” is something you do once every four years at a ballot box, then you return to a workplace run like a dictatorship

Every time labour in Canada stands up to management, the Liberal government steps in on the side of management. It's pathological.

It's also bad for the economy, bad for these businesses who have constantly pissed-off workforces, and bad for everyone's safety.

The Liberals are profoundly, unabashedly anti-worker.

They always force binding arbitration... unless it's what the workers want, like with Canada Post, then for some reason it's off the table.

So good to see Arkane's workers push for this!

Also a great example of one of the core benefits of unionization, which is just "creating a structure for discussion and systems to make collective decisions." Always much harder to get action at scale like this if there isn't already organization.

It’s only problematic through a capitalist lens -- to people who mistake community for a growth metric rather than a space for actual conversation.
Bluesky has a growth problem

Bluesky has hit 38M monthly users, up 8M since March

Once adding 5M users per month, it’s now slowed to 1.6M. A 60% drop

But post volume is falling—more users, less activity

It risks becoming a ghost town with a loyal but shrinking core
