If you make a billion dollars — or $500 million or even $100 million dollars — and you keep trying to make more, then there is something seriously wrong with you. It's a mental illness akin to hoarding or drug addiction.

I guess I believe that seeking pleasure is a more fundamental drive than avoiding pain, and through this lens most bigotries reveal themselves pretty clearly.

I always side eye autism social skills classes because I spent years trying desperately to fit in and always subtly failing and getting treated worse than if I never tried to hide. But then I learned from other weirdos how to be happily weird and found belonging way faster.

what with the "shrug, eugenics isn't inherently bad" guy and the "accommodations have gone too far" defenders, it really feels like a rough week (or rougher week than usual) for disabled people, and I would politely ask the universe to KNOCK IT OFF
