Some of the Christmas gifts. I’m lucky I have a spouse who actually thinks to buy me Jurassic world toys.

Mall Santa: Who’s your friend there?
Lucia: This dinosaur has teeth when it’s a baby but not when it’s a grown up.
Santa: oh…so interesting.

The toy is meant to be Elaphrosaurus whose close relatives did do that. @davehone.bsky.social thought you’d be amused.

Christmas socks.

My fav thing about my dinosaur Christmas sweater is the fact that whomever designed it chose to throw a narwhal in the mix.

I despise the four letter bird codes. But I’ll make an exception for Snowy Owl…which is simply SNOW. 🪶

Newest #watercolor #paleoart is of the armored dinosaur, Peloroplites. As much as i like making colorful dinosaurs, a big gray-brown beast is its own kind of beautiful. 🎨🦖

Lambert, our Ackie Monitor, ate his first (small) adult mouse. Bulk of his diet will continue to be roaches, crickets, pinky mice, and eggs, but it’s good to know he can handle a huge meal like this. 🦎🐁

Hadrosaurus foulkii in #watercolors. This image is currently used in the New Jersey State Museum’s exhibit with their skeleton of this iconic dinosaur. #paleoart #dinosaur

The more I hear about how people interact with genAI and the responses it generates, the more I see it as a soul-sucking detriment to society.

People are willingly social engineering themselves, giving up parts of what makes them human, to a computer trained on the dregs of humanity.

Lambeosaurus in #watercolor from a few years ago. #paleoart

Same energy 66 million years removed. I asked Lambert, my Ackie Monitor, his thoughts on his dead cousin being confirmed in the Hell Creek formation. If he did respond it was garbled by him having a mouthful of hardboiled egg. 🦎

Can finally share this #watercolor #paleoart I did a few years back of the “King of the Riverside” I did for the new paper by @melanieduring.com which shows that in Hell Creek there were giant Prognathodon mosasaurs that were living in freshwater (not just visiting)

Newest #paleoart #watercolor is Parasaurolophus. I don’t like using modern animal colors/patterns on paleoart exactly but I do use their palettes sometimes. Extra points if you know what this was from.

From Henry Sharpe’s new paper on hadrosaur crests. I appreciate this. I’m so sick and tired of artists slapping the exact same crest on every species of Edmontosaurus because one mummified specimen showed it and thinking they’re “more accurate”. If anything it’s less likely.

Newest #watercolor is the “duck titan” Edmontosaurus annectens. I couldn’t wait to depict the newly published sail-like crest. (I didn’t include the rounded head crest, however, since that wasn’t found in this species.) #paleoart

Annual turkey day cartoon reminding everyone that birds are theropod dinosaurs. 🦃🦖

This is what i imagine whenever i see one of those silly turkey hats. 🍗

Watching Charlie Brown for the first time since childhood. As a watercolor painter I adore how they allowed the paint to behave like paint in the background. Using blossoming (normally avoided) for the sky and grass.

My Gargoyle Gecko, Brooklyn, peeling the last of her old skin off her tail like a sock. Lots of animals that shed will eat the old skin. 🦎 #gargoylegecko #reptile #herp

Homologous structure day.

Nanotyrannus attacking a young Tyrannosaurus is super common in paleoart especially in the last few weeks. Won’t stop me from depicting it too. Enjoy the new #watercolor. #paleoart
