The new Frankenstein movie on Netflix by Guillermo del Toro is VERY good. I think the best version of the story I’ve ever seen.

Fun Halloween media trope I enjoy: “Starring the spooky classic monsters! Vampire! Werewolf! Frankenstein! Ghost! Witch! But the second we run out of ideas we’re expanding to literally any and every fantasy creature and framing them as “spooky” monsters too.”

Yup. Also note how certain folks purposefully pronounce it antEEfuh to further it from sounding like anti-fascist even more.
I think we really should stop using antifa and just fully say anti-fascist and get them saying they are against anti fascism. Using antifa is giving them some distance and I genuinely think some of their base don’t even know that’s what it stands for.

Newest #paleoart is Hesperosuchus running off with a stolen Coelophysis egg. Not often you see the little pseudosuchian preying on the dinosaur. Figured I’d switch it up. #watercolor #sciart

Coyote on the trail camera under my back deck. I’ve never heard or seen any in the years I’ve been there. Just another reason not to let your cats roam outside and your dogs off leash while hiking. 🐺

The Red Phalarope that was in the middle of DC this past week. One of the few sexually dimorphic birds where females are the ones who exhibit display colors. 🪶
