I would like to join the Thunderbolts*. My superpower will be that I will stop them from saying "copyright" when they should say "trademark."
I know that Blueskyers love their physical media, but ITunes is having an amazing mega bundle sale including MGM 100 movies for $100, Paramount 50 for $50, 43 Clint Eastwood movies for $100 and a bunch of other great bundles. Definitely worth checking out if you don't care about having the disc.

Also, the cup holders are too small to fit a Super Big Gulp
Fun fact: it costs $21,000 to change the oil in a Bugatti Veyron, the process takes 27 hours

You know what would be a great use of AI? If you could feed it a contract that contained defined terms, and it made it so every time those terms appeared in the contract, you could hover your mouse over the word and the definition would pop up. If that doesn't exist yet, could someone get on that?

What’s the word where you’re from that, when pronounced exactly as it looks, identifies a tourist immediately?

This week marked a significant day in IP history. Tuesday was the 70th anniversary of the tragic death of James Dean. The significance of that is that California's Right of Publicity law (Civ. Code 3344.1) only protects the rights of celebrities for 70 years. 1/

What they say: "This open world game is huge!"

What they mean: Of the 100 hours spent playing this game, 95 of them will be spent on a horse traveling from one mission to another.

I saw One Battle After Another last week and I am predicting that it will be a big surprise hit in the same way Sinners was. The movie rocks!
This is one thing giant movie studios can still do--the crazy big swing that costs a lot of money and is not tied to an algorithm or concern about "viewer retention rate at minute three"--that no other entity can. It is one reason the film ecosystem still needs them.
if you're a person who doesn't see the unalloyed good in Warner Bros spending $150 million on a loose Pynchon adaptation by Paul Thomas Anderson, we simply do not occupy the same reality

I always loved The Magician starring Bill Bixby
Everyone has a 1-2 season TV show they sorely miss and not enough people knew about that you are always praising the heavens about.

What's yours?

As someone who didn’t like Regal I will have to venture out and reassess my opinion.
For my L.A. Blueskyers, if you haven't been to the Regal Sherman Oaks lately, they've upgraded most of the theaters and done a great job. Reclining seats, perfect sightlines, and the screens are noticeably brighter. IMAX coming in November. Check it out!

I love @stephenking.bsky.social and the Stand, so I'm just relishing this book of short stories set in the Stand Universe. But I was especially thrilled to learn, (thanks to @crobertcargill.bsky.social) that folks will still be watching Friday the 13th 3-D even after the world ends. Fantastic!
