I'm working on some conversion guidelines between games right now and in the first part of it I have to go "So OK, here's the funny thing, games are different, you can't do this with numbers, so here's some ideas on how to kind of jury-rig it."

Ok, @lumpley.bsky.social & I have been very up-front over the years on our sales data & etc, so here's a thing, & thanks Will, for bringing it up. Starting a career in #ttrpgs means making games. it means writing in a goggle doc or notebook, trying mechanics with a friend, finding 3 folks to play.
I don't really see any false vision of success — virtually anybody who talks about it is very up front, and people who ask about "starting a career in games" get told very plainly that the only way to have money while working in RPGs is to start with money.

All morning I thought I'd failed, because my engine died at a red light and the examiner gave me a hiding for clumsy gear-shifts and clutch-work.

Today I will be taking a driving test.
Never learned to drive as a teen---and over the years it just got harder and harder to learn. Driving became one of my biggest mental blocks.
Couldn't sleep, last night. I feel like I did in school, developing a tummy ache before an exam.
Hope I don't crash.
