The nice thing about NFTs was that they were clearly a scam. If you tried to explain what they were, you sounded like a crazy person.
Generative AI as it's being sold is also a scam, but it's easier to pretend that it isn't. And that's infuriating to everyone who sees the emperor has no clothes.

Just finished Kingdoms of the Dump, truly a great game. In a true janitor fashion @kingdomsofthedump.bsky.social cleaned bugs faster than I played since I never softlocked at all, which seems to be the major critique. One of the most fun game worlds I was ever part of. Cannot recommend this enough.

Is a lot of the distrust against UBI because most people don't do creative work and so they can't fathom the idea that if people's needs were met, they would keep working on creative projects just for fun?

I've been doing this all year but indie journalists have the same issues as indie games. Unless it's a big name, nobody cares.
