A lot of folks in Ontario seem to have missed this news. There is no good take on it. The CAs are science based with domains defined by watersheds and they are locally accountable. Ford wants less roadblocks for his developer buddies i.e. more building in flood plains etc. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

I've said it before. Our nation is not paying enough attention, politically or financially, to the demographic cliff upon whose edge we sit. Both elder care and increasing the working-age population have to be priorities. Immigration is a dirty word these days, but is the best solution.

This is crucial to understand. We cannot police our way out of crime - we could (technically) but it would be an awful place to live. Quiescent and orderly society emerges endogenously when things like poverty, healthcare, and education are properly provided and freely available.
Anyone who says they’re tough on crime but have no intention of being tough on poverty doesn’t really care about crime.

Students who feel included and safe in their learning environment are more likely to achieve academic success. Banning an inclusive symbol, like the Pride flag, is unnecessarily cruel and demeaning for students and families who identify as 2SLGBTQIA+. 🌈
