I love when movies play in my head for hours or even days after I see them. PREDATOR: BADLANDS may be my favorite franchise movie this year. It's so much fun. Monsters, androids, glowy swords, spaceships, and laser guns, and they should serve cereal because it's Saturday morning cartoony as hell.

The Toxic Avenger proves again that low budget doesn’t mean low vision. It’s raw cinema, unfiltered ambition.

Cushing tackles bone sucking beasts in Terence Fishers low budget gem. Grisly fun, loaded with thrifty thrills and cheap British charm. 1966.

For writers, isolation is the purest form of focus. It shields ideas from dissolving into social noise and turns solitude into a resonant chamber of imagination.

perhaps you would like to read my conversation with ethan hawke about the end of the lowdown, and not wanting to sell out, and quixotic lead characters, and peter dinklage with hair so long it dragged on the floor

I don't feel right reviewing it, given my relationships with Scott Derrickson and @crobertcargill.bsky.social, but I just watched BLACK PHONE 2 & it's fucking beautiful. Uncompromising in its violence and gore, yes, and steeped in dream-logic and a genuine melancholic nostalgia that feels physical.
