This gets at a thing I'm trying to write about right now, which is that norms are shifting faster than our ability to talk about them. Like, older generations are still saying "double-check what AI tools tell you", but WHERE are younger people supposed to double-check things? In print?
I had a student whose final was flagged with 70%+ as paraphrasing from AI generated text. He could not understand why I considered Grammarly helping him “fix his sentence structure” plagiarism since it’s “not just getting Chat GPT to give you an answer.”
The biggest argument against AI should always start with autocorrect given how often that shit never works and will just outright mangle your sentences into a complete word homunculus if you’re not paying attention

I always believe kids. But especially kids who are dealing with abusive moms. We fucking gaslight those kids more than anybody. Being abused by your mother is a such a particular thing because society holds up mothers as basically deities.
